So You Want to Talk About Race
We are all on the path to becoming as antiracist as we can, but let’s face it–talking about race can be a little uncomfortable. Have you ever found yourself thinking…
What if I don’t talk about race right?
Was that really about race?
Why am I being asked to check my privilege?
Did I just commit a microagression?
I just got called a racist. What do I do now?
Well, let’s get together and talk about it! We will use Ijeoma Oluo’s comprehensive, fresh, and approachable bestseller “So You Want to Talk About Race” as our guide to explore these difficult barriers to brave and constructive discussion. We’ll then discover what else we can do to promote antiracism and dismantle oppression, beyond just talking.
Whether you have read the book, haven’t read it yet, or just feel like talking in a safe, nonjudgmental and informative space, this discussion is for you.
Invite a friend! We will see you in person or via Zoom on Saturday morning at 10:00.
