Pastor Joshua was an improvisation actor for a few years in Ohio and Moscow. In this
service, he will ask us to think about implementing some fundamentals of improv to help
make this congregational year our greatest yet
The Ministerial Search Team were the only ones to witness the sermon Pastor Joshua
offered in Santa Monica when he was a candidate, “The Love-Dependent Web of All
Existence.” He thinks it’s worth sharing with the entire congregation.
The late congressman John Lewis said that he discovered that if you visualize something, if
you can even have faith that it’s there, it is as if for you it is already there. The phrase “Live
as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever” is a quote attributed to
Mahatma Gandhi. Both sentiments, attributed to two of the greatest nonviolent freedom
fighters of all time, utilize two of the smallest words, “as, if” to motivate radical
transformation.
Artificial Intelligence is here. Pastor Joshua will explore the ethical and theological
implications of AI or, he might just ask AI to do it and report back.
