Nationally, denominationally, and personally, many of us have spent a lot of time understanding our inner bigot, the nature of structural racism, and both the fragility and quiet power of whiteness.  Without doing anything but turning on the television, we have turned our stomachs and opened our eyes to police violence.  As a kickoff to our upcoming Saturday morning Adult Ed program on Race and White Supremacy beginning in October, I wanted to provide for myself and those not regularly involved in our conversations a sermon-style overview of the history of American racism.
