Our hearts ache as we watch the unfolding drama at the border. In nearby unincorporated Inglewood, newly arrived immigrants can go from bad situations in their native countries to as bad or even worse situations here in the U.S. In this service, Pacific Unitarian member and Hawthorne High School teacher to English language learners, Kristy Lesan, introduces us to students who have been taught her curriculum based on the powerful lesson that even a child has the potential to change things as they did in the Children’s Movement for Peace in Colombia, contributing to the end to that country’s civil war. Students will present in their own voices. You will be moved.
