TOPIC:  Exploring the best in all of us. When Barack Obama spoke in 2020 about Rep. John Lewis (D-Georgia), shortly after the passing of his friend, political mentor and long-serving member of congress, he said, “He believed that in all of us, there exists the capacity for great courage, a longing to do what’s right, a willingness to love all people, and to extend to them their God-given rights to dignity and respect. And it’s because he saw the best in all of us that he will continue, even in his passing, to serve as a beacon in that long journey towards a more perfect union….” Mr. Obama continues his message of faith and hope in the goodness of humanity even in the face of a resurgence that has our nation moving purposefully backward to a time when goodness and justice held a backseat to the arrogance of supremist values of entitlement.

How do you feel about Obama’s worldview? Is it reasonable or practical in the glare of realities that currently threaten to once again blatantly engulf the heart and soul of the USA?

This is a very casual, chatty group. But we’re hoping that any serious writers might put up with us anyway, if they are so inclined. Submissions can be written or oral; no experience needed.

Please do not attend if you think you have or are getting something contagious. Masking or not is OK, your preference. Thanks.
