Happy New Year!

I am writing this after a great meeting with our new internal events task force. In fact, since I arrived at Pacific Unitarian, I’ve had amazingly positive and productive interactions with all our groups, committees, and individual volunteers. I am truly impressed with the amount of volunteer commitment here at Pacific Unitarian; without it, we would not be the amazing community we are.

Formal volunteer recognitions are in the works, but I wanted to use my first column of the New Year to offer my deep personal gratitude to our volunteer force. I need you all to know how much I appreciate you and your incredible generosity with your valuable time and expertise.

When I think about all the duties that volunteers take on, including working on committees, ushering and assisting with worship, providing our lunch every week, singing in the choir, or helping with grounds upkeep and facility maintenance, just to name a few, I am blown away by the amount of work and the number of volunteers who assist with every aspect of the running of our congregation. When I think about the busy lives, we all lead, I am even more impressed with the incredible amount you all accomplish!

If I spent every moment of every day thanking you, it would not be enough to express my gratitude. To all Pacific Unitarian volunteers, I value you so much.

For those who are interested in volunteering, it’s a great way to get to know Pacific Unitarian and your fellow congregants. Please reach out to me or contact the office for opportunities.
