MARTIN'S DREAM & OURS

A Meditation on Martin Luther King. James believes Dr. King was the great American teacher of Mahatma Gandhi's path of soul force and peace as a way of being. Today in these times of violence, these lessons seem more important than ever.

LISTEN!

The act of listening is often unexamined. We will consider sound as an influence on spiritual formation through four experiences and reflect on how sound shapes us.

Transition Team--Next steps

Most of you are aware that our Reverend James Ishmael Ford is serving as our Interim Minister. Many of you may be wondering: “What next?  How do we get our settled minister?”

Here’s what’s ahead.  A Ministerial Search Committee (MSC) will be formed and tasked with the responsibility of finding the best individual available to serve as our settled minister.  The first step was to select a nominating committee to recommend, to the congregation, candidates to serve on the MSC. The trustees, with the strong support of James, have asked the members of the Transition Team to serve as the nominating committee.

We are pleased to announce that each current member of the transition team: Clay Bosler, Judy Shaffer, Lee Ann Hart, and Joani Thompson, has enthusiastically accepted this important responsibility

Look for more information in next week’s View regarding the responsibilities, timeline and time commitments to serve on the MSC. We will also be explaining more at the Town Hall meeting on January 31st. The nominating committee will present a timeline for nominations to be received. Please wait until the MSC responsibilities have been more fully explained and instructions on how to nominate individuals have been published before making any recommendations to the nominating committee.

Thank you.
